Jefferson County Parks and Recreation will be accepting Grant Program applications from Jan-May 2007. The Community Park Grant program was established in 1991 to encourage community participation in the enhancement of park and recreation programs and facilities. At this time it is unknown if the program will be funded due to budgetary reasons.
Grant requests are submitted to the Jefferson County Park and Recreation Division and the proposals are reviewed, ranked and recommended by the Advisory Board and Staff to the Board of County Commissioner for final approval. Grants must be matched by labor, cash, materials or in-kind services and maximum awards are $2,000.
To be eligible for park grant funding, the project/ program must be located in Jefferson County and constructed or performed on county-owned park property.
